Gold Medal Winner in the 2015 eLit Book Awards! Finalist in the 2015 International Book Awards! Voted 'Best Comedy Book of 2016' by the Best of L.A. Awards, referring to the book as “packed with brilliant humor and wisdom.” Honorable Mention in 2015 New York Book Festival! A four star rating from Clarion Reviews! Kirkus reviews says the book, "provides lots of laughs in its observances of the everyday." Who is the man that the Los Angeles Times once called, "quite likely the funniest entertainer you've never heard of… yet?" Paul Murphy spent eleven years as an Essex County (MA) Assistant District Attorney, supervising several of the Commonwealth's busiest district courthouses, before building a reputation as a noted criminal-defense trial attorney. The unexpected twist to this story is that, at the same time, under the pseudonym of Paul D’Angelo, Paul was simultaneously becoming one of the nation’s top stand-up comedians. Paul has performed in famed entertainment venues ranging from the legendary Friar's Club and the main ballroom of New York City's Waldorf Astoria, to the main showroom at Harrah's Casino and Caesar's Palace, and has opened for over 60 internationally known artists such as Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, The Beach Boys, Chicago, Tom Jones, George Carlin, Joan Rivers and The Doobie Brothers. Known as a prolific creator of intelligent, introspective and reflective humor that everyone can relate to, there are still numerous comedy routines, funny stories and anecdotes that Paul rarely gets an opportunity to share with his live audiences. 'Stories I Tell' presents many of these comedic treasures in a random collection of entertaining musings, which range in subject matter from hilarious courtroom stories, to the dilemma facing an unhappy Eva Braun as she contemplates breaking-up with Hitler; from a stand-up comic’s life in Hollywood, to being attacked by a Great White Shark in his own water-bed; and from satirical commentary on contemporary society, to Paul’s awkward attempts at conversation while having lunch with Jesus. D'Angelo’s constantly evolving and diverse selection of original material takes normal everyday experiences and spins them into hilarious yarns. It's a fun, easy read with unique observations and down to earth stop-and-think humor.

My face hurts from laughing so hard. The thing that makes this book so good is that Paul is a real guy telling real stories, and like he say's ' you can't make this s*** up ! '. Ok, full disclaimer : I've known Paul since we were 8 year old Little League teammates ( and yes, he was funny then too), but regardless, this s*** is hilarious. In fact, that only means I can verify that these stories are actually true. Any way, you owe it to yourself to buy this book, and when you're through, send it (or another copy) to all your friends, because they'll thank you for it. Can't wait to see the follow up !Product details

Perfectly Funny!
Great book by a very funny guy! Highly recommended !!
Very Funny Book!
i found this to be one of the most boring books I have ever read in my life.
It is incredibly difficult to read while tears of laughter flow down my face! This is far and away the funniest book I have ever read, FOR REAL! Paul's experiences combined with his very unique storytelling deliver a constant one two punch and you find yourself having to catch you breath as if you'd just run a 5k. This is a must read for any comedy fan or fan of great storytelling.
Paul D'Angelo does it again! I have had the pleasure of seeing Paul live many times. Just when you think he can't be funnier, he kills it. This book does just that. It is hilarious. Great format with short stories. I found myself laughing out loud and smiling throughout. This book is a MUST READ for everyone. Thank you Paul for sharing your amazing talent for making us all laugh.
PS. Great Christmas gift idea. Your friends will thank you for it. I promise.
I bought this book on Friday afternoon and had it read in 48 hours, I have never read a book in 48 hours. I could only put it down when I needed to wipe the tears from my eyes because I was laughing so hard. On Friday afternoon I took my wife to the hairdressers and sat and started reading the book. Women who work there kept asking me what I was reading because I was grinning ear to ear. I lost an entire weekend because I could not put the book down, What a Great Weekend.
